Crumbling

Crumbling

One day you will wake up and realize that you’re holding on too tight. You will feel the weight of your own grip. You will feel how heavy it is to keep fighting for something that is slipping through your hands.

You will notice the fear. Fear of letting go. Fear that if you release it, there will be nothing left. Yet, at the same time, you will feel the sadness that things are not turning out the way you pictured. The in-between hurts more than either side.

Conflicted. That’s the word. Conflicted with the responsibility of power and the desire for freedom. You know you can make things happen.

There is a truth you avoid. Not everything requires your grip. Not everything needs to be held, fixed, or carried. Sometimes the best power is in choosing release.
